Julie Stewart for Altoona City Council

VOTE FOR JULIE STEWART NOVEMBER 7

Together, we’ll continue to create a bright future for Altoona.

Key Issues

  • Economic Growth

I am committed to implementing a comprehensive process that fosters a competitive environment and attracts businesses to Altoona. This will create new opportunities for our residents and strengthen our local economy.

  • Public Safety

I will work diligently to ensure that our police and fire departments have the necessary resources to maintain a safe and secure environment in our growing community.

  • Education

I will engage with the Southeast Polk Community School District to help ensure the best possible educational opportunities for current and future generations.

Why I’m Running

My decision to run as a first-time candidate is largely driven by my lifelong connection to this community. Being raised in Altoona instilled in me a sense of community pride and stewardship, along with a drive to give back to a community that has given me so much.

These values, and the shared sense of community spirit in Altoona, are why I chose to raise my children here. And throughout the years, it’s why I’ve given my time and effort to so many wonderful organizations that make this community a better place.

This includes serving as President of the East Polk Innovation Collaborative, Co-Chair of Altoona 150, Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars, and volunteering with the Altoona PTA, among others. I also led the development of creating Visit Altoona.

As a member of the Altoona City Council, I will draw on these experiences and my passion for this community to make Altoona a better place for all residents!
